About Shapefinder

Shapefinder is an independent tool for choosing a mouse, a mousepad or a keyboard. It asks a few questions and shows only the products that meet every answer, in an order set by how well they fit and how widely they are known.

Where the data comes from

Shapes, dimensions and specifications come from manufacturer data and published measurements, and the keyboard specifications have been checked one by one against the makers' and retailers' own product pages. Prices and shop links are read from the retailers' own listings; the retailer's page always has the final word on price and stock.

Spotted a wrong specification, a broken link or a product we are missing? Write to hello@shapefinder.cc and it will be corrected.

Affiliates

Shapefinder works with a number of brands and retailers. Using the shop links on this site supports the development and maintenance of Shapefinder.

Disclosure

Certain links on this website are affiliate links. Where a purchase is made through such a link, Shapefinder may receive a commission from the retailer. It does not change the price you pay.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Shapefinder currently participates in the affiliate programs of Amazon, Lamzu, Pulsar, Scyrox and Epomaker. These relationships have no bearing on which products are shown or on the order in which they are ranked. Results are determined solely by the answers given and the product data.

Privacy and cookies

Shapefinder does not require registration and does not set cookies of its own. Answers to the questionnaire are processed in the browser. They are kept in the page address so a result can be shared, and Shapefinder does not store them. The visitor's country is determined from the connection in order to direct them to the appropriate Amazon store and to show prices in the local currency.

When a shop button is used, Shapefinder records which button it was, for which product, on which page and when, and the visitor's country, in order to learn which links are of use. No cookie, identifier or IP address is stored with that record. The hosting provider, Netlify, collects anonymous measurements of how quickly pages load.

Retailers reached through links on this website, including Amazon, may place and read cookies or use similar technologies in order to attribute purchases and for their own purposes. Such processing is governed by the privacy policies of those retailers.
